Debating Ohio: Democratic Candidates for Governor

The latest in a series of debates will be held at the City Club of Cleveland. In addition, the Ohio Democratic Party announced it will be hosting, with the Ohio Democratic County Chairs Association – and co-hosted by many local county parties, a series of debates, forums, town halls and other events with the Democratic candidates for governor and down ticket candidates around the state. These events are designed to introduce the Democratic statewide candidates to all Ohio voters. If you can’t attend, ODCCA and ODP are live streaming and videotaping events as possible to be posted.

Ohio Democratic Gubernatorial Debates: Hosted by ODCCA and ODP

The Ohio Democratic Party and Ohio Democratic County Chairs Association first officially sanctioned debate with the Democratic candidates for governor is scheduled for Tuesday, September 12, in Martins Ferry. This will be the first in a series of debates, forums and other events designed to introduce the Democratic statewide candidates to Ohio voters. Ohio House Does Not Override Kasich’s Veto on Medicaid Expansion. Instead, Overrides 11 Others

July 6, 2017

In large part due to significant public pushback, the Ohio House failed to override Governor Kasich’s veto of their Medicaid Expansion freeze. This is great news for Ohio, as estimates had the freeze causing 500,000 Ohioans to lose coverage. However, this issue is not settled, as Speaker Rosenberger has stated that the chamber may revisit overriding the veto in the near future – or by the end of December 2017 when this session ends.
