Even though it is your right to decide when you want to vote, millions of Ohioans have been removed/purged – or are scheduled to be removed/purged – from voter registration files at local county boards of elections because of inactivity due to moving or haven’t cast a ballot for six consecutive years and have not responded to a mailer to update their registration. Millions of Ohioans have been removed/purged from the voter files since 2009. You should make it a habit to check your voter registration before every voter registration deadline and before every election.

many voters because they chose not to vote.

2011 to 2016 – 2 million voters
2018 – 7,500 voters
2019 – 267,00 voters
2020 – 194,00 voters
2023 – 26,000 voters
2024 – 154,995 voters
2025 – 352,389 voters

has continued the purging process.
If you receive a postcard from your local county board of elections,
you MUST update your voter information or you will be purged.
