In wake of heroin crisis, Pepper calls on state to restore funds for addiction treatment
Today, David Pepper, Democratic Nominee for Ohio Attorney General, made the following statement regarding a new state policy that will lead to drastic cuts to funding for county addiction treatment services. The Associated Press revealed today that counties providing addiction services will face a $20 million shortfall over the next fiscal year in the midst of Ohio’s growing heroin crisis.

Ed FitzGerald proposes ‘voting rights’ amendment to Cuyahoga County charter

Cuyahoga County voters could be asked this November to make the protection of voting rights a permanent part of the county’s governing charter, under a proposal from Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald.
FitzGerald on Tuesday introduced a proposed charter amendment declaring voting a “fundamental right in the County.” It authorizes the county to take action, including legal action, to protect and promote the right to vote among county residents.
Over $238,000 in Tax-Payer Dollars Lost to Unemployment Fraud Last Year

Last night, WEWS-TV in Cleveland aired a report that showed, under Governor Kasich, 204 incarcerated criminals received $238,222 in fraudulent unemployment checks last year alone.
