Higher Unemployment, 12,400 Jobs Lost in July Under John Kasich’s Failed Policies

As Ohio loses jobs, labor market continues to shrink

COLUMBUS – This morning, the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services released the July jobs report and revised June figures for Ohio. After losing nearly 3,000 jobs in May, the revised June job creation figure was reduced by almost a third.  July’s report showed Ohio lost 12,400 jobs overall with 2,900 jobs lost in manufacturing.

Multiple Indicators This Week Show Ohio Economy Stalling

Ohio Has Second Highest Increase in Unemployment Claims

This week, multiple indicators have shown that Ohio’s economy is stalling.  Ohio had the second largest increase in initial unemployment compensation claims last week.  For the second month in a row, the state reported revenues coming in below estimates by the Kasich administration.

Over $238,000 in Tax-Payer Dollars Lost to Unemployment Fraud Last Year

Last night, WEWS-TV in Cleveland aired a report that showed, under Governor Kasich, 204 incarcerated criminals received $238,222 in fraudulent unemployment checks last year alone.

FitzGerald Calls On Kasich to Urge Speaker Boehner and Ohio Federal Delegation  To Act On Extending Unemployment Benefits

As Ohio economy falters, more than 40,000 jobless Ohioans stand to lose benefits on Dec. 28th 

In a letter to Governor Kasich, Cuyahoga County Executive and Democratic candidate for governor Ed FitzGerald today urged action to prevent over 40,000 jobless Ohioans from having their unemployment benefits cut off on December 28th when the Emergency Unemployment Compensation program is set to expire.
