For those of you living in Congressional District 12, there is a special election being held on Tuesday, August 7, for the seat of former Congressman Patrick Tiberi (R) who resigned to become president of the Ohio Business Roundtable. An opportunity to flip a red seat to blue! Your vote matters!
The district includes Delaware, Licking, and Morrow counties with the addition of portions of Franklin, Marion, Muskingum, and Richland counties. A congressional district map can be found online.
The candidates are:
- Democrat Franklin Recorder Danny O’Connor, from Columbus – Danny O’Connor for Congress
- Republican State Senator Troy Balderson, from Zanesville
The deadline to register to vote or update an existing registration ahead of the August 7th Special Election is Monday, July 9 (30 days before the election). To check your registration, please visit IWillVote.
Early voting starts Tuesday, July 10. Call your local county board of election to find out where early voting is being held or to request your ballot by mail.
Election Day is Tuesday, August 7. Polls are open from 6:30am – 7:30pm.
